Motion 2 modules firmware update instruction

In rare cases, you will be suggested to upgrade the firmware for your MDM2/MRX2.

The firmware update file is a .zip file, and the .zip file supports both MDM2 and MRX2 firmware updates.

Please follow the below steps to perform the MDM2 firmware update:

1. Make sure the laptop does not have any MDM2 or MRX2 plugging in.

2. Remove MDM2's battery.

3. Switch the number 8 dip switch to enable OTA mode, like below:

   

4. Open the Motion 2 application and browse to the Settings menu.

5. Use a Type-C to Type-C cable, and connect MDM2 to the laptop.

6. Verify that the blue LED lights up, which indicates the module is powered, and enter OTA mode.

7. Press the “Select FW File” button to pick the designated FW file.

8. Observe the update process and confirm the MDM2 module FW update is successful.

9. Remember to switch the number 8 dip back to exit firmware update mode after the update process.
