Cleaning guidelines for your i3TOUCH display

i3-Technologies’ displays are meant to be touched.
Now, more than ever, it’s essential to adopt proper hygienic practices to make sure your display is cleaned correctly.

Display

The glass plate of the i3Touch display is made from AG (Anti-Glare) glass. Some corrosive materials may cause damage to AG glass.

For cleaning, the AG glass can be wiped with a dust-free cloth.
If there are stains, use a small amount of glass cleaner and wipe with a cloth to remove them.
Don’t spray the glass cleaner directly onto the glass.

When using a disinfecting glass cleaner, please ensure that this disinfecting glass cleaning product is safe to use on AG glass to avoid warranty issues. When in doubt, please contact the supplier or manufacturer of the glass cleaning product for confirmation.

How to wipe off, wipe out

Please follow these steps to clean and disinfect the external surface of your devices:

  1. Wear disposable latex gloves or nitrile gloves if you are latex-sensitive.

  2. Turn off the device and disconnect the power cable.
Remove the batteries from items like remotes.
Never clean a product while it is powered on or plugged in.

  3. Moisten a microfiber cloth with a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and 30% water.
Do not use fibrous materials, like paper towels or toilet paper.
The cloth should be moist but not dripping wet.

  4. Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned in circular movements.

  5. Do not allow any moisture to drip into areas like USB ports and other openings, as moisture entering the inside of an electronic product can cause extensive damage to the product.

  6. Start with the display, move to the back of the device, and end with the cables.

  7. Ensure surfaces have been completely air-dried before turning the device on after cleaning.
No moisture should be visible on the surfaces of the product before it is powered on.

  8. Gloves should be discarded after each cleaning.
Clean hands immediately after gloves are removed.

What NOT to use

Many common household cleaners and disinfectants can damage electronic products.
Do not use any of the following chemicals or any solutions that contain them,
including spray-based surface cleaners.
These chemicals will irreversibly damage the coatings on the glass: (tested in high-concentration 80%)

  • CHLORINE and CHLORINE COMPOUNDS

  • FORMALDEHYDE

  • HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

  • PERACETIC ACID

  • CITRIC ACID

Not recommended

These chemicals will not irreversibly damage the coatings on the glass but will induce a massive amount of smudges and marks which are difficult to be cleaned (when applied in high concentrations).

  • GLUTARALDEHYDE

  • IODOPHORS

  • ORTHO-PHTHALADEHYD
