Pre-Requisites

i3RDM Is the ultimate solution for remote management of interactive flat panels. However, before getting started, you need to check whether you comply with the following pre-requisites:

  • Is the IFP device I want to link to i3RDM running a standarf Android v7.0 or higher?

  • Does the device have a (stable) internet connection?

  • Are there specific firewall settings blocking external communication (all communication happens over HTTPS port 80).

In order to get i3RDM working with you IFP’s and existing infrastructure, you need to comply with the items mentioned above.

Also consider who in your organisation will be managing i3RDM and therefore will be needing access to the (cloud) system.

Compatibility Requirements

Compatibility with IFP’s from i3-Technologies
i3RDM work seamlessly with any recent type of interactive flat panel from i3-Technologies. As long as the device is running on Android 7.0 or higher you are able to take full control using i3RDM.

Controlling your devices

In this section we explain how i3RDM let’s you manipulate the IFP’s remotely.

Retrieving Device data

You can find data for a device on the device detail page of any enrolled device.

The following data is available:

  • Device model

  • Serial number

  • IP Address

  • MAC Address

  • OS Version

  • Last activity

  • App usage

  • Online/Offline status

  • Storage available

  • Total available apps

  • Total active apps on the device

  • App usage for the device

  • Apps

    • Installed apps

    • Available apps

    • Running apps

    • Installed version

  • Groups that include the device

Remove a device

Go to your devices and go to the device details of the device you would like to remove.

The delete option can be found under the more options icon of your main device details:

Enroll an Android Interactive Flat Panel (IFP)

  • How to enroll an IFP to your i3RDM portal

Go to “My devices”.

You can start the enrollment process by clicking on the “+” button in the top right.

The next prompt will display your unique company code

Go to the device you want to enroll. This device must have the i3RDM client app installed. If this is not yet the case, you can easily install the i3RDM app from the i3STORE.

Open the i3RDM client app on the device.

Follow the enrollment instructions, enter your unique code and choose a display name. Your device will be shown with this name in your i3RDM portal. This name can be changed later in the device details page.

Finish the enrollment process and get started.

Remote installation of apps

  • How apps can be uninstalled from a device

Via app repository

Apps can be installed remotely from your app repository.

Choose the app you want to install. The “Manage application” window will open.

Choose a device or group of devices and press the “Install” button. The app will be queued for installation. It may take a few minutes for the installation to complete before the status changes.

You can follow the same steps to uninstall an application.

Via device details

Alternatively, you can also install and uninstall from the device details page.

Go to “My devices”.

Choose the device you want to install apps on from your enrolled devices and press the “detail” button.

Besides information about your device, you will also see a list of all available apps. Each app has either an install or uninstall button depending on the status of the app on that device.

It may take a few minutes for the installation or removal to complete before the status changes.

Send a message to the display

Go to “Messages” for a list of previously sent messages.

Here you can find the details and status of all messages sent to the device. You can also create a new message by clicking on the “+” button.

Fill in your message details and choose either a device or a device group for the message to be sent to.

Grouping devices

  • How to group devices into device pools that will all get the same app configuration

To be able to group devices. A group must be created first.

Click on “Groups” to create and edit groups. When creating a group or editing a group you can immediately add one or more devices to the group.

Alternatively, you can add or remove a device from a group in the device details page.

After a group is created and devices have been added to it, you can select this group instead of an individual device when installing an app from the app repository. See Remote Installation of apps

Edit profile

You can change your accounts settings by clicking on your profile picture and choose “Edit profile”.

Here you can choose to:

  • Update your personal information (e.g. name, email, …)

  • Change your password
